Humble Crow and Co.

Silver curtain clouds

Lovingly swaddle the sun

« Time to shine »

Little birds sing

Perched on the feeder

As one

A team of tiny feathers

All flapping with tiny might

And the cardinal

Velvet red royalty

Tilting crown from left to right

At the large indigo cape

Swooping in to land

Littlest feathers stop flapping

As Crow now takes his stand

Gracious steps of humbleness

Waiting patiently to feed

Content just to stay low

And tidy up fallen seed

Then a scurry of a small furry

From the log pile ,Chipmunk appears

Darting around Crow’s feet

Suet clumps abating all fears

« Good morning Chip,don’t hurry »

Crow alarms Chip to stop

Tiny eyes peer upwards

« Hello Crow, have I been caught? »

Chip darts behind the geranium

Cheeks full of red and white millet

Crow busy with kitchen clean-up

Cries « Careful not to spill it! »

This mini theatre of blossoms

Beckons everyday

The more food I bring

the louder they sing

God’s choir

Shooing darkness away
